Komen for the Cure Pink Night

The World’s Toughest Cowboys Wear Pink....

The Texas Ford Dealers Tri-State Fair and Rodeo will be the stomping grounds for some of the toughest rodeo athletes this world has to offer September 18-20, in the Amarillo National Center.

You may be surprised because on Thursday, September 18, these athletes will be showing Amarillo their softer side by wearing pink. This will be a display of support for the Komen for the Cure chapter of Amarillo.

“This is a great cause. These rodeo athletes are from all over the world and they are supporting one of the world’s largest foundations. There is strength in numbers,” said Cal White, Marketing Director.

The Texas Ford Dealers Tri-State Fair and Rodeo has teamed up with the Amarillo chapter of Komen for the Cure, “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” movement, to assist in raising funds and to heighten awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Komen for the Cure is the world's largest and most progressive grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists in the world.

“If you have ever watched a rodeo, you know these rodeo athletes are fighters. What better way to fight breast cancer than to get some of the toughest people in the world involved,” said Virgil Bartlett, General Manager. “These ProRodeo contestants know this is a battle we all must get involved with to win.”

Rodeo hands, cowboy life savers, volunteers and spectators alike will all be encouraged to wear pink to the rodeo and the fairgrounds to show their support for the movement, Thursday, September 18. Komen for the Cure will also be selling pink products and signing new participants up to walk or run in the Race for the Cure.

The PRCA rodeo continues with performances from some of the top rodeo athletes in the world, Friday and Saturday, September 19 and 20. All three performances will begin at 7 pm.

The rodeo is free with a general gate admission ticket purchase to the Texas Ford Dealers Tri-State Fair and Rodeo on Thursday and Friday night. The Saturday night performance is $5 plus general gate admission to the Tri-State Fair.

Exciting entertainment will follow on the Budweiser stage Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights after the rodeo. Join us Thursday, September 18, at the Texas Ford Dealers Tri-State Fair and Rodeo to support the fight against breast cancer.
