Amarillo Tri-State Exposition Scholarship Program
The Amarillo Tri-State Exposition's volunteer Board of Directors created a scholarship program for the youth of the Texas Panhandle in the spring of 2004. The endowment fund is being administered by the Opportunity Plan, Inc, a scholarship administration group located in Canyon, Texas.
The main criteria for the scholarships are the financial need of the student, academic achievement, community service and leadership performance. The scholarship recipient must have graduated from a high school in the Panhandle’s 26 county region and be enrolled in a community college or university.
The Board of Directors have encouraged ways to grow the endowment fund including special scholarship fund raising activities and a matching grant program.
Patrons of the annual Texas Ford DealersTri-State Fair contribute by turning in their unused tokens at designated containers located near the exit gates. The money from the unredeemed tokens is then moved into the scholarship fund. Our goal is to increase the endowment Fund so that more youth will benefit from the annual Texas Ford Dealers Tri-State Fair & Rodeo.
