Special Entertainment Before Tri-State Fair & Rodeo Parade
AMARILLO, TX-At approximately 9:15AM on Saturday, September 19, before the annual Tri-State Fair & Rodeo Parade the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Motorcycle Drill Team will take to Polk street to entertain the crowd.
“We are fortunate that the drill team has been able to make a return trip to Amarillo,” said Walt Kelley, Parade Chairman. “They will be performing on Polk Street so be sure and get there early to see what they have in store for us.”
The drill team serves as law enforcement ambassadors of good will to communities. Each year, thousands of people throughout Central Indiana and across the country experience the thrill of seeing the team perform.
“Our travels and expenses are funded by private money from individuals and businesses in Indianapolis and around the country.” According to Lt. Bart McAtee the commander for the team. “The team currently rides Harley Davidson Road King Police Motorcycles. The drill team executes a multitude of precise and difficult drills requiring months of practice and choreography.”
For the past 55 years the motorcycle team has been one of the top goodwill ambassadors for the city of Indianapolis, the state of Indiana and law enforcement around the country. With continual community support, the drill team will continue to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the public it serves, building better communities in which to live work and raise a family.
