The 86th edition of the Texas Ford Dealers Tri-State Fair and Rodeo is just around the corner and that means just one thing. It is time for a Parade!

“Back to the Good Ol’ Days – 40’s and 50’s” will be the theme for the 2009 event which will take place Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 10:00 am.

“The Parade is a spectacular way to get everyone excited about the Texas Ford Dealers Tri-State Fair & Rodeo. It is an event that is looked forward to by the participants as well as the spectators year after year,” said Angela Ragland, Marketing Director for the Tri-State Fair & Rodeo.

“This year the prize money for the three floats best representing the theme has been increased to $400.00 for first place, $300.00 for second place and $200.00 for third place,” according to Walt Kelley, Parade Chairman. “The parade committee hopes that the increased prize money will encourage more organizations or businesses to enter a float in the parade.”

Parade awards will be passed out Saturday, September 19 at 5:00 pm on the Coca-Cola Family Stage at the Tri-State Fairgrounds.

Parade applications must be submitted to the Tri-State Fair & Rodeo office no later than August 28, 2009. You may come by the fair office and pick up an application or visit www.tristatefair.com and download an application.

The parade will begin at 10am leading off at 11th Avenue and Polk Street and disperse in the north parking lot on 3rd Avenue between Buchanan and Johnson streets. KVII will continue the tradition of televising the parade live on Channel 7.

The Texas Ford Dealers Tri-State Fair & Rodeo is set for Sept. 18-26, 2009.
