Tri-State Fair & Rodeo Nominated as Rodeo of the Year in PRCA

AMARILLO, TX- The Tri-State Fair & Rodeo is excited to announce they have been nominated for the “Medium-Size Rodeo of the Year” Award in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.  The Tri-State Fair & Rodeo is the largest event in the Panhandle happening each September for the past 86 years.

“This is quite an honor for us to be nominated in this category,” said Virgil Bartlett, general manager of the Tri-State Exposition. “We were selected by the top contestants and contract personnel in the PRCA. Added monies from our sponsorships as well as the upgrades to our facilities here at the Expo grounds have helped to make this a hospitable place for cowboys and cowgirls throughout the country to compete.”

The top five nominees in 11 categories will be voted on by all PRCA contestants, participating contract personnel and dues paying rodeo committees.  The Tri-State Fair & Rodeo is competing in the medium-size market which is determined by total added money. Abilene; Ogden, Utah; Phillipsburg, Kan. and Deadwood, S.D. round out the top 5 medium-size rodeos on the ballot. Winners will be announced Dec. 2 at the annual PRCA Awards Dinner in Las Vegas.
