Annual Texas Ford Dealers Tri-State Fair Set to Begin
Amarillo, TX- The 86th annual Texas Ford Dealers Tri-State Fair and Rodeo is set to begin at four p.m. September 18 at the Tri-State Fairgrounds. The Texas Ford Dealers Tri-State Fair and Rodeo is Amarillo’s largest annual event attracting over 150,000 visitors from all over the nation.
The Tri-State Fair and Rodeo is one of many events that are held by the Amarillo Tri-State Exposition.
“We are really trying to enhance the image of the fairgrounds, we have added a new administrative office, renovated facilities and bid farewell to some of the older historic buildings,” said Virgil Bartlett, General Manager, “We have modernized many of the facilities located on the fairgrounds.”
The Tri-State Fair and Rodeo is celebrating 86 years of history. The first event held was in September 1923, when local ranchers congregated for cattle shows and rodeos. Since 1923, the Tri-State Fairgrounds has added several facilities, including the Amarillo National Center. The Amarillo National Center has hosted several major events that generate large revenues for Amarillo’s economy.
“We are really excited about the 2009 fair season. We have rides for every age on the Xcel Energy Midway, several new exhibits and a list of top notch food vendors that will allow you to indulge upon your fair food cravings,” said Angela Ragland, Marketing Director.
Daily entertainment on the Coca-Cola Stage will be Paul Isaac “Funny Juggler,” Jeff Martin “The Blond Curly Haired Magician” and Jerry Harris “Master Hypnotist.”
