Pump up the Volume
Only the best...

Release Date: May 1, 2007

One of the top rodeo and sport venues in the country now delivers some serious kick via a new sound system. Audience members will definitly hear the difference inside the Amarillo National Center at the Tri-State Fairgrounds.

Designed by Little Orchard Sound, Inc. of Newcastle, Oklahoma, the top-of-the-line system includes 36 new speakers and subwoofers mounted throughout the building.

“The goal of this new sound system is to provide our events and our crowds with quality sound. Gone are the days when you had to strain to understand what’s going on,” said Tri-State Exposition General Manager Virgil Bartlett.

Originally, the ANC was equiped with a Public Address system, not a true sound system. The result was jumbled audio for much of the audience. The new system addresses that problem.

“The only complaint I’ve ever heard from anyone about the ANC has been the old sound system. This new system is a home run. It’s an incredible improvement. It will be a Cadillac system for most of the events that come to the center,” said New Day Productions co-owner Joe Luscombe, who recently used the new system in conjunction with motor cross and the PBR.

The Amarillo National Center hosts a wide variety of events each year from equine to monster truck shows from rodeos to concerts and large private parties. The new system is expected to make the building more marketable to potential events.

“This is a large reverberant arena, but the audio inside is still cohesive, consistent and clean. On any given evening, there’s a combination of horse event music, event commentary, singers and live performances, and the audience up high in the bleachers can hear exactly the same thing as the folks on the floor,” according to Little Orchard co-owner John Ford.
